چکیده
This article discusses the benefits of introducing a simple passive mechanism to enable rotor tilting in Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) multirotor vehicles. Such system is evaluated relevant Urban Air Mobility (UAM) passenger transport scenarios such as hovering wind conditions overcoming failures. While conventional parallel axis multirotors are underactuated systems, proposed makes vehicle fully actuated SE(3), which implies independent cabin position orientation control. An accurate simulator with realistic parameters presented compare simulation architecture VTOL that shares same physical properties. In order make fair comparisons, controllers obtained solving an optimization problem cost function both systems chosen be equivalent. particular, control laws Linear-Quadratic Regulators (LQR), derived by linearizing around hover. It shown through extensive introduction based on universal joints improves performance metrics stability, power consumption, comfort tracking precision nominal flight it does not compromise safety failure situations.

Modelling and Daisy Chaining Control Allocation of a Multirotor Helicopter with a Single Tilting Rotor
Abstract: This paper presents the development and implementation of a single tilting rotor multirotor helicopter. A single tilting rotor multirotor helicopter is proposed that allows for decoupled lateral acceleration and attitude states. A dynamics model of the proposed multirotor helicopter is established to enable control system development. A control system architecture and daisy chaining-b...
متن کاملControl of VTOL vehicles with thrust-tilting augmentation
An approach to the control of a VTOL vehicle equipped with complementary thrusttilting capabilities that nominally yield full actuation of the vehicle’s position and attitude is developed. The particularity and difficulty of the control problem are epitomized by the existence of a maximum tilting angle which forbids complete and decoupled control of the vehicle’s position and attitude in all si...
متن کاملMultibody Dynamics Model of a VTOL Teetering Rotor
This paper presents the development of a multibody dynamics model of a VTOL teetering rotor. The developed model includes a teetering hub, containing a flexure and torque tube, rotor blades, pitch links, and swashplate system. A non-teetering rotor configuration, which modified the baseline teetering rotor by removing the teetering hinge, is also developed, and its aeromechanics characteristics...
متن کاملVision-based Position Control of a Two-rotor VTOL miniUAV
In this paper we address the stabilization of the attitude and position of a birotor miniUAV to perform autonomous flight. For this purpose, we have implemented a Kalman-based sensor fusion between inertial sensors (gyrosaccelerometers) and the optical flow (OF) provided by the vehicle. This fusion algorithm extracts the translational-OF (TOF) component and discriminates the rotational OF (ROF)...
متن کاملControllability Analysis for Multirotor Helicopter Rotor Degradation and Failure
This paper considers the controllability analysis problem for a class of multirotor systems subject to rotor failure/wear. It is shown that classical controllability theories of linear systems is not sufficient to test the controllability of the considered multirotors. Owing to this, a new necessary and sufficient condition for the controllability of multirotors is derived, where an easy-to-use...
